I’m delighted to launch this retreat in my home country of Scotland, and I’m looking forward to welcoming you to Burgie House.
I am a Yoga Alliance registered yoga instructor, usually known as The Yoga Mat. I specialise in the traditional practice of Hatha Yoga, incorporating breathwork techniques to sequence into restorative savasanas and deep meditations to fully realise the benefits of yoga. My love for yoga and development as an instructor came from the deeper understanding of myself as a person the more I practiced, and my eagerness to invest more time in learning never stops. I continue to develop as a yoga teacher through books and courses, with the most recent course focusing on somatic movement.
Scotland is my heritage, and I have a great love for the outdoors and all things natural to the land, including an interest in plants and how they can be used as natural remedies. Scottish dancing, old tales, and historical facts won’t be in short supply at the Roots of Scotland Yoga Retreat.
